Rajul Patel, Pharm,D, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice in the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at the University of the Pacific, and a partner school principal investigator of the grant funding the Partners in D program.
Dr. Patel has worked with the Health Plan of San Joaquin to develop a Pharmacy Cognitive Services Compensation Program, which is an offshoot of medication therapeutic management. In addition, Dr. Patel is involved with development of a pharmacoeconomic model that will help identify direct medical care costs avoided by a managed care organization through pharmacist-directed interventions.
Dr. Patel’s primary research endeavors are in the fields of pharmacoeconomics/outcomes research. In addition, Dr. Patel’s teaching responsibilities at the University of the Pacific include biostatistics, pharmacoeconomics, and clinical therapeutics. To further complement his University scholarly/teaching obligations as a faculty member, Dr. Patel has continued to maintain an active community pharmacy practice.
Dr. Patel earned Doctor of Pharmacy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of the Pacific. He joined the University of the Pacific faculty in 2005.
