Amanda Smith is the evaluation coordinator for the Partners in D program.  She is responsible for the many and diverse ways in which Partners in D activities are measured. Ms. Smith assists in the development of all outcomes measures and takes the lead in the analysis of data and interpretation of data results.  She works closely with faculty members in writing sections of Partners in D research papers for submission to leading medical, pharmacy, and health policy professional journals.

Before joining Partners in D, Ms. Smith worked for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Institute for Heath Policy Studies at the University of California, San Francisco as a project director for a diverse group of clinical and economic studies.   She was responsible for a full range of research activities, from grant proposal to research protocol development, from data collection to data analysis and manuscript preparation. Prior to this position, Ms. Smith was an epidemiologist and project manager for The Parkinson’s Institute in Sunnyvale, California.

Ms. Smith earned a Master of Public Health, with a concentration in epidemiology, from San Diego State University. She also holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in biology and psychology from The Johns Hopkins University. Ms. Smith joined the Partners in D team in 2007.
