Sharon L. Youmans, PharmD, MPH, is an associate professor of clinical pharmacy in the UCSF School of Pharmacy’s Department of Clinical Pharmacy and the department’s vice chair for education. She is also a co-investigator of the grant supporting the Partners in D program.

Dr. Youmans coordinates an Introductory Pharmacy Practice course and teaches the topics of public health and immunizations to first-year pharmacy students. Her research interests include health literacy and health communication, the role of the pharmacist in providing medication and health education to underrepresented and vulnerable populations in the community pharmacy setting, and pharmacy education.

She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of California, San Francisco and completed a general pharmacy residency at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. She subsequently earned a Master of Public Health from San Jose State University. She joined the UCSF faculty in 2001.
